Position Overview: We are in search of a Senior Business Development Strategist to operate within the Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania regions. This role is pivotal in securing contracts, nurturing client relationships, and exploring business prospects across various Federal Government agencies in the mid-Atlantic area. The Senior Business Development Strategist will articulate TEN's unique advantages and value propositions to our Federal Government clientele, particularly in relation to our energy performance contracting services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities that align with TEN's offerings for Federal Government agencies.
- Gain insights into prospective clients' objectives and tailor TEN's solutions to meet their specific needs.
- Collaborate with TEN's technical teams to devise solutions that highlight TEN's value and distinguish us from competitors.
- Partner with technical teams and business associates to formulate contract strategies aimed at winning new business from Federal entities.
- Compile a list of potential business targets by:
- Understanding and articulating various federal energy performance contracting options.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key business partners.
- Participating in relevant federal trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of ten years of consultative sales experience, preferably in energy services or building solutions.
- Experience working with federal government agencies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with energy service companies is preferred.
- Knowledge of state and federal procurement legislation is advantageous.
Skills Required:
- Proficient in delivering compelling presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Expertise in consultative, value-driven sales, negotiation, and closing techniques.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
