Marine Fabrication Specialist

The Marine Fabrication Specialist plays a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of ship components, ensuring that all operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducts layout fabrication, assembly, and installation of advanced components and equipment.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of industrial and shipboard work practices, particularly in military environments.
- Interprets and works from shipboard drawings and diagrams effectively.
- Operates and sets up various testing apparatus and equipment.
- Creates detailed sketches and drawings for production and parts requisition.
- Innovates and assembles new or modified mechanical components.
- Assesses the functionality and compliance of components and equipment with project specifications.
- Documents testing procedures and outcomes, performs analysis, and suggests improvements for equipment and methods.
- May mentor and lead less-experienced technicians.
- Engages in special projects as necessary.
- Performs technical duties related to machinery and equipment development or testing.
- An associate degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant experience is required.
- Technical or vocational training is preferred.
- Professional certifications may be necessary based on specific job assignments.
- A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components.
- Eligibility to obtain a DBIDS Badge for access to military bases and shipyards is essential.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
