Job Summary:

Fairview Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Anatomic Pathology Technician to join our team at the Acute Care Laboratory. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of patient specimens, maintaining high-quality laboratory results, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure and handle patient specimens, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Manage sample accountability, including tracking and verifying specimen receipt and processing
  • Collaborate with nursing and provider teams to resolve specimen-related issues and ensure seamless patient care
  • Perform routine and specialty laboratory processes, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and quality control
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory results and specimen processing
  • Participate in laboratory quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • 24 credits of college coursework in chemistry or biological sciences, or equivalent experience in a clinical laboratory
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse teams
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills, with ability to learn and adapt to laboratory information systems
