Position Overview

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Children's Minnesota is actively seeking a fellowship-trained Neuropathologist to enhance our multi-specialty hospital-based pathology team. The growth of our neurosurgery service offers a unique opportunity for the selected candidate to significantly contribute to the advancement of this program. Strong communication and leadership skills are crucial for success in this position.

Department Highlights

Our department processes approximately 10,000 surgical and cytology specimens and conducts nearly 1 million laboratory tests annually. We pride ourselves on fostering a collegial and collaborative work environment, maintaining close consultative relationships with all clinical and surgical services.

Service Expectations

Currently, our service handles a diverse range of complex cases each year, with expectations for substantial growth in the coming years following the launch of our state-of-the-art iMRI neurosurgical suite. Participation in neuropathology consultations for our active autopsy service is also welcomed.

Team Composition

The current team consists of 6 pathologists, 2 physicians overseeing transfusion medicine services, a full-time pathologists' assistant, and a dedicated histology staff. Our subspecialty coverage includes pediatric pathology, clinical microbiology, molecular pathology, and hematopathology.

Qualifications

  • Must possess an M.D. or D.O. with a valid Minnesota Medical License or the ability to obtain one.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neuropathology.
