Job Summary

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the President of UNC Faculty Physicians, a premier academic practice within UNC Health Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for bridging the clinical excellence of UNC Health and the academic excellence of the UNC School of Medicine, ensuring a seamless integration of these pivotal areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of Clinical Operations: Ensure effective and efficient clinical operations, delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining UNC Faculty Physicians' reputation as a nationally leading academic practice.
  • Advancement of Clinical Integration: Lead the integration efforts of the Faculty Practice across UNC Physicians and all UNC Health hospitals, fostering the delivery of integrated care.
  • Collaboration across UNC Health: Build robust relationships with key leaders across UNC Health to ensure operations are closely aligned with broader system goals.
Leadership and Management
  • Lead people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Provide an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts.
  • Encourage workforce engagement by building a commitment to excellence and by promoting the organization's vision internally and externally.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree required from an accredited institution.
  • Active and current state medical license without encumbrances.
  • Requires 12 years of progressively responsible experience within a hospital or large healthcare system, including 10 years of experience in people management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of complex healthcare systems, regulatory environments, billing/coding practices, insurance, and reimbursement models.
  • Expertise in the challenges and opportunities of managing a large physician group, including compensation structures, recruitment, physician relations, and productivity.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with physicians, UNC Health administrative leaders, the UNC-CH leaders, and external stakeholders.
