About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to serve as the President of UNC Faculty Physicians. As a key member of the UNC Health leadership team, the President will play a critical role in driving the strategic direction and operational activities of the Faculty Practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the clinical performance and reputation of UNC Faculty Physicians
  • Lead the integration efforts of the Faculty Practice across UNC Physicians and all UNC Health hospitals
  • Collaborate with other key leaders across UNC Health to ensure operations are closely aligned with broader system goals
  • Oversee the clinical performance of the Faculty Practice and associated departments, including quality, productivity, patient and faculty satisfaction, and other key clinical metrics
  • Develop and manage the budget for UNC Faculty Physicians, ensuring alignment with system-wide financial goals
  • Lead and manage a team of senior leaders and staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the Faculty Practice
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, UNC Health administrative leaders, and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in an appropriate discipline
  • Active and current state medical license without encumbrances
  • 12 years of progressively responsible experience within a hospital or large healthcare system, including 10 years of experience in people management
  • Deep understanding of complex healthcare systems, regulatory environments, billing/coding practices, insurance, and reimbursement models
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with physicians, UNC Health administrative leaders, and external stakeholders
