Electrical Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Kennewick School District. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing journeyman-level electrical work in the maintenance and repair of school district facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain, repair, and install electrical systems and equipment, including lighting, motors, power panels, fuse boxes, circuit breakers, controls, and conduit.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, including switches, pumps, motors, and blowers.
- Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit and wire for own work and in support of others.
- Examine, repair, adjust, clean, lubricate, and replace mechanical parts, including gears, guides, bearings, belts, rollers, and pinions.
- Operate machines and equipment to test moving parts, check for excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, loose parts, and to listen to sounds that would indicate trouble or help in locating causes of trouble.
- Keep records on equipment repairs, including time spent, cost of parts, frequency of repair, etc.
- Communicate with district administrators and staff in a knowledgeable, professional, and courteous manner.
- Perform other maintenance duties as required and assist other crafts as requested or assigned by the Buildings & Grounds Manager.
- Minimum of two (2) years full-time experience in the past five years as a journey level Electrician in facility construction, maintenance, and/or repair.
- Valid Washington State electrical license with 3 years of experience; or journeyman status as an electrician with 3 years commercial/industrial electrical experience.
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair electric, electrical, and mechanical equipment and machines.
- Demonstrate comprehension of electrical concepts and pertinent code.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Demonstrate the high degree of skill and knowledge expected of a journey level trades worker in the responsibilities listed under the headings "Essential Duties and Responsibilities," "General Requirements," "Physical Demands," and "Work Environment."
- Possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License with a clear driving record.
- Willingness to comply with district board policies and established programs.
- Evidence of ability to operate computers and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Evidence of ability to be a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to problem-solve.
- The ability to assess and correct issues involving safety; read and interpret plans, construction drawings, and blueprints.
- Show a history of dependability and punctuality, along with positive evaluations and recommendations.
- Evidence of ability to organize and prioritize to meet the district's needs and deadlines.
- Evidence of ability to determine the scope of work and materials needed and make cost estimates for projects.
- Evidence of ability to establish and maintain a tactful, cooperative, and effective relationship with fellow employees, shop lead persons, district staff, and administrators.
- Evidence of ability to approach assigned work in a professional manner, working toward the common goal of teamwork, pride in service delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Physically able to do the required work, including heavy and sustained lifting of more than 35 lbs., squatting, bending, stooping, carrying, climbing of ladders, and other functions that are physically difficult and demanding.

The employee will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may on occasion be loud and require hearing protection.
