Job Summary:

MaineHealth Corporate is seeking a Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate assignment of ICD and CPT coding of diagnoses and procedures for outpatient medical records in multiple different outpatient settings.

About the Role:

The Clinical Coding Specialist role requires two years of multi-specialty, preferably surgical coding experience, with CPT/ICD and CM/HCPCS/modifier coding for physician professional charges. You will also need a minimum of two years of experience in an acute care facility as a Clinical Coder I.

Responsibilities:

* Accurately assign ICD and CPT coding for diagnoses and procedures
* Perform abstracting to determine accuracy and completeness of outpatient records
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate coding

Requirements:

* Education: Associate's degree in a science field or equivalent experience
* License/Certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCA, CPC, CPC-H, or CIRCC credential required
* Experience: Two years of multi-specialty coding experience and two years of experience in an acute care facility as a Clinical Coder I
