Purchasing Agent - Capital Equipment

This role is responsible for providing enterprise-wide support for capital and custom equipment expenditures through the facilitation of supplier selection processes and management of ongoing supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and lead supplier selection processes for custom equipment and capital expenditures, including managing quoting events, authorizations for expenses, and memorializing decisions on supplier selection.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, ensuring contracts and contractual obligations are met and negotiated on behalf of the organization.
  • Manage performance, negotiate payment, and ensure timely communication with stakeholders to meet project objectives and installation timelines.
  • Coordinate delivery, specification reviews, and payment systems to receive equipment, working with various stakeholders to ensure timely installation and setup.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing capital equipment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal relationships and negotiation skills.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical controlled equipment.
  • Supplier development and performance management experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to various manufacturing plants.
