Professor of Animal Science

This is a nine-month, tenure-track role within the Department of Animal and Dairy Science, emphasizing a blend of Extension (60%), research (35%), and service (5%). The successful candidate will be integral to the development and leadership of a nationally recognized beef cattle Extension and research initiative.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and innovate in the beef cattle Extension program, collaborating with county agents and fellow researchers to enhance information transfer within the Georgia Beef Industry.
- Oversee the Tifton Bull Evaluation Center and the Heifer Evaluation and Reproductive Development (HERD) Program.
- Conduct applied research aligned with the candidate's expertise, focusing on securing external funding to support research endeavors.
Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in Animal Science or a closely related discipline, with a proven track record of scholarship and professional experience commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor. For consideration at the Associate Professor level, a minimum of five years in the Assistant Professor role is required, while candidates for Full Professor must have at least five years at the Associate Professor level.
Preferred Skills:Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities are essential for this position.
