Position Overview:

The role of the Postdoctoral Research Associate involves conducting innovative interdisciplinary research aimed at exploring the pathological and therapeutic functions of extracellular vesicles in neuromuscular diseases, specifically Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), while developing effective CRISPR-mediated gene therapy techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research Execution: Engage in laboratory research focusing on the engineering of extracellular vesicles as in vivo delivery systems to enhance CRISPR-mediated gene therapy for neurological conditions.
  • Pathological Investigation: Analyze the roles of extracellular vesicles in ALS using cellular models, including induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and animal models.
  • Muscle Regeneration Studies: Investigate the role of Fibro-adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) in muscle regeneration and reinnervation following denervation and other muscle injuries.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. and demonstrate a robust background in molecular biology, genetics, neuroscience, cell biology, bioinformatics, or related disciplines. Experience with stem cell/iPSC culture, mouse genetics, high-throughput genomic methodologies (such as single-cell sequencing, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C), and CRISPR genome editing techniques is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong oral and written communication abilities are essential, along with a proven track record of productivity and publications in reputable scientific journals.

Work Environment:

This position entails minimal physical demands typical of a laboratory setting, with responsibilities primarily focused on research activities.
