A well-established multi-state legal recoveries law firm, S&A Legal Management Services, Inc., is actively seeking a Controller to lead our Accounting Team in Carrollton, Texas.

Job Summary:

The Controller will be a hands-on leader responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations, including reconciliations, financial statement preparation and analysis, treasury management, payroll, and internal controls for multiple entities with the support of 2 direct reports and 7 indirect reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and present timely financial statements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and policies to mitigate risks and enhance the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and tax compliance resources to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial performance, providing recommendations for optimizing liquidity.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering professional development and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, providing financial insights to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in professional accounting, including closing the books and financial statement preparation and analysis, preferably in a mid-to-large size company.
  • Experience with multi-company operations.
  • Proficient in NetSuite, preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA is a bonus but not required.
