Recreation Program Coordinator

- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Commitment to complete a minimum of ten (10) hours of in-service training annually related to recreational activities.
- Facilitate resident participation in activities by providing assistance and support.
- Document attendance and engagement levels for both group and individual activities.
- Lead and manage designated group and individual recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer contributions.
- Organize arts and crafts sessions suitable for all resident skill levels.
- Review and implement activities aligned with each resident's care plan.
- Assist in the decoration of the facility for seasonal events and holidays.
- Distribute an updated activity calendar to all residents.
- Support the ongoing recognition of resident birthdays.
- Participate in community outings and special events as needed.
- Accompany residents to external appointments when required.
- Assist in managing the resident store as necessary.
- Immediately report any resident incidents or accidents to nursing staff for assessment.
- Notify the Office Manager or designated personnel of any personal injuries, regardless of severity.
- Report any suspected resident abuse to the Administrator or designated personnel without delay.
- This includes: resident-to-resident, staff-to-resident, visitor-to-resident interactions.
- Any abusive behavior directed towards staff or visitors should be reported to nursing staff for appropriate action.
- Observe and report any necessary repairs or service issues, including broken or missing equipment and environmental concerns.
- Attend all required departmental meetings and in-services, ensuring to obtain information from any missed sessions.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Activity Director.
