About the Role

Christensen, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Fuel Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial fuel equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fuel System Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair issues with fuel dispensers, card readers, sump work, underground tanks, and Point of Sale (POS) Systems.
  • Commercial Fuel Systems: Focus on above-ground tanks and mechanical equipment such as fuel hoses, swivels, nozzles, and filters. Ensure all fuel equipment is diagnosed before ordering parts for repair.
  • Lubrication Equipment Installation and Repair: Install and repair above-ground tanks, pumps, reels, and hydraulic tubing. Repair lubrication dispensing pumps on-site or in the shop using repair kits and parts.
  • Lube Systems Installation: Install lube systems in vehicle and equipment maintenance shops using hydraulic tubing and hoses. Use basket lifts to anchor and install plumbing, potentially up to 30' high.
  • Fuel Monitor Installation and Repair: Install fuel monitors into above-ground and below-ground tanks and replace or repair them as needed. This requires wrenching and initializing communication via applications on your phone.
  • Plumbing Equipment Installation and Repair: Use threading pipe or compression fittings to install and repair plumbing equipment.
  • Chemical Handling: Handle chemicals such as diesel, gasoline, degreasers, diesel additives, and petroleum blends, ensuring proper disposal.

As a member of our team, you will be expected to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals. You will be responsible for communicating effectively with colleagues, solving problems, and taking ownership of projects and initiatives.

Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Pass a Drug Screen: Pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Operate a Forklift: Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Operate a 26,000lb Vehicle with a Trailer: Ability to operate a 26,000lb vehicle with a trailer.

  • Accurately Document and Communicate Repairs: Ability to accurately document and communicate repairs.
  • Diagnose Issues with Fuel Equipment: Ability to diagnose issues with fuel equipment.
  • Complete Checklists of Inspections: Ability to complete checklists of inspections.
  • Efficient Mindset: Ability to work with an efficient mindset, minimizing unnecessary steps and actions.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Lifting and Moving: Ability to lift and move items over 50 pounds multiple times per day.
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment: Ability to wear required personal protective equipment per job.
  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand for multiple hours at a time and walk in various weather conditions.
  • Working with Hazardous Materials: Ability to work with hazardous materials.
