Job Title: Special Education Complaints Investigator

At CAPPS, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Education Complaints Investigator to join our team. As a key member of our Special Education Complaints unit, you will be responsible for investigating special education complaints filed against public education agencies in the state of Texas.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Complaints Investigator will perform advanced investigative work to determine compliance with special education statutory and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of state and federal special education statutes, rules, and regulations, as well as excellent technical and legal writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigations of special education complaints filed against public education agencies in Texas
  • Determine compliance with special education statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement corrective actions for non-compliant public education agencies
  • Provide technical assistance to public education agencies on special education requirements
  • Develop and deliver presentations to educators, parents, and the public on special education and dispute resolution
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • At least four years of experience in determining and/or correcting non-compliance associated with special education programs
  • Experience in the administration of special education programs and conducting investigations is preferred
