Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineering Program Manager to join our Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of new cloud hardware and infrastructure solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to define and deliver operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a virtual team of functional leads, including members from hardware and software engineering, sourcing, supply chain, networking, and datacenter operations, to document a Plan-of-Record (POR) for new product development and lead the project team to meet stated milestones.
  • Provide technical program management for new cloud hardware development, driving the development, planning, and execution of a holistic cross-functional product development and/or launch strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technology development partners to form a cohesive development plan, leveraging experience and engineering skills to solve problems, fill gaps, and achieve objectives through a cross-functional team.
  • Hold accountability for team and most or all portions of the work to deliver in-class architecture solutions, conducting risk management efforts in new product introduction, scenario planning, and mitigation of risks, recovery from risks.
  • Communicate to and regularly interact with senior management, highlighting risks across functional teams and providing recommendations to support product-level decisions.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguity, applying process where it creates value, and designing process where it's needed, recognizing situations where each approach is most appropriate.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment, generating clarity, tracking towards development milestones, and overall readiness for all new data center infrastructure development, launch, and deployments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years' experience in Engineering, Product/Technical Program Management, or Product Development, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Proven program management experience from new product introduction (NPI) to post-product launch.
  • Proficient knowledge of high-volume server design and manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years' experience in Engineering, Product/Technical Program Management, Data Analysis, or Product Development.
  • 6+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Proficient technical design, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in shipping high-quality products and services.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, assess opportunities, and develop principles to prioritize multiple strategic and tactical options, and drive issues to closure with a high bar on quality.
  • Proven ability to work and collaborate with a wide range of business stakeholders to achieve results and impact.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, Management Team, etc.).
  • Ability to partner closely with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and implement features, infrastructure, processes, and workflows.
  • Ability to create and operationalize processes to transform the effectiveness of the organization with respect to meeting business goals. Coach, enable, and grow Program Managers within the team and our partners.
  • Can align key stakeholders and manage projects through milestones to completion on schedule and in budget.
  • Supplier management experience for ODMs, SIs, and IHVs.
Benefits:
