Position Overview:
The Certified Medical Support Specialist plays a crucial role within the medical and nursing team, delivering direct patient care and assistance in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing clinical tasks such as obtaining medical histories, documenting vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Managing administrative duties including appointment scheduling, patient record maintenance, and assisting with billing processes.
- Facilitating the efficient operation of the clinic or office.
Requirements:
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Fundamental understanding of healthcare practices.
- Capability to foster effective relationships with patients and colleagues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- No experience is required for Level I, 1 year for Level II, and 3 years for Level III.
Certifications:
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA is mandatory.
- BLS certification is essential.
