Overview of Responsibilities

The Inventory Control Supervisor I plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of inventory management within the organization. This position encompasses a variety of essential functions, which may include:

  • Budget Management: Overseeing the operational budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing discrepancies, and initiating corrective measures while assisting with procurement processes.
  • Employee Oversight: Scheduling and assigning tasks to team members, while monitoring and evaluating work outcomes to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Inventory Management: Maintaining optimal inventory levels by analyzing data from tracking systems, generating reports, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Reconciliation: Ensuring accuracy by reconciling physical inventory with control records and addressing any variances that arise.
  • Support and Guidance: Assisting departmental staff by investigating discrepancies, recommending strategies for inventory management, and overseeing the distribution of stock.
  • Safety and Compliance: Upholding warehouse safety and security standards by adhering to guidelines, reporting inconsistencies, and suggesting corrective actions.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in comprehensive supervisory activities, including the selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendations for personnel actions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of inventory control methodologies and systems.
  • Understanding of supervisory and managerial principles.
  • Familiarity with fiscal planning and budget formulation.
  • Proficiency in office and administrative practices related to procurement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in data analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively.
  • Competence in utilizing computers and relevant software applications.

  • Experience in leading, supervising, and training a diverse workforce.
