Senior ESG Manager

COGS, a leading wholesale building material company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior ESG Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to drive sustainability and ESG reporting initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and oversee the company's sustainability data reporting strategy and associated controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with ESG reporting standards, including CSRD, SEC, GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
  • Contribute to ESG disclosures in SEC filings, such as Annual Reports and Form 10-K/Q.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by developing and maintaining systems for ESG data collection, verification, and analysis.
  • Ensure robust systems for ESG data reporting, maintaining data integrity for external reporting and audits.
  • Work with teams to validate, analyze, and ensure the accuracy of ESG data, including GHG emissions, following industry standards.
  • Establish a structure for third-party assurance of ESG data and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to integrate external assurance requirements into SEC reporting.
  • Stay updated on ESG regulations and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Train corporate teams on ESG data assurance and reporting practices.
  • Manage project timelines for ESG reporting, driving process improvements.
  • Support strategic initiatives like GHG emissions targets, monitoring KPIs, and advising leadership on sustainability performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (or equivalent) required.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in public accounting and 2 years in ESG reporting.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, ESG regulations, reporting frameworks, and SEC, CSRD rules.
