Role Summary:
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of hospital facilities. This role is vital in supporting our mission to deliver the highest quality of care. The technician will perform routine cleaning tasks and utilize appropriate cleaning agents and supplies in accordance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine cleaning of designated areas to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Perform various environmental services tasks, including daily disinfection, high dusting, and window cleaning.
- Ensure all flooring is properly maintained, including dust mopping and damp mopping, while keeping corners and edges clean.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals and supplies as per established guidelines, ensuring proper dilution and labeling.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely, reporting any hazards as necessary.
- Manage the disposal of waste and hazardous materials in designated areas.
- Distribute clean linens to patient areas and collect soiled linens when applicable.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and use of disinfectants to prevent infection spread.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while completing assigned tasks.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Work Environment:
This position is full-time, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. The work shift is in the evening, from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, including every other weekend and holiday.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform significant manual tasks and demonstrate dexterity.
- Exposure to various occupational risks.
- Capable of exerting medium to heavy effort, lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Potential exposure to dirt, odors, and other environmental factors.
