  • Supervise and train a team of culinary staff to ensure excellent service and high-quality food preparation.
  • Manage food costs and inventory to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning health and safety.
  • Collaborate with sales, catering, and banquet staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new menu concepts and recipes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recipes and costing of all dishes prepared for banquet functions.
  • Inspect and maintain the cleanliness of kitchen stations and equipment.
  • Review and complete requisitions for food and supplies needed for upcoming events.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is prepared for the following day's work and that all equipment is in proper operational condition.
Requirements
  • Advanced culinary training and three years of experience as a chef, or equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations experience.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, moving about the kitchen, and handling food and objects.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, and profit/loss concepts.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
