Storage and Data Protection Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Storage and Data Protection System Administrator to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our Digital Technology team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our large information system.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective software and hardware solutions that meet current and future needs.
- Work with architectural and end-user teams to gather storage requirements for capacity, performance, and partner with facilities to ensure appropriate space and power availability.
- Integrate and partner with customer, engineers, storage architects, system administrators, network engineering, tools, and high-performance computing teams to solve complex infrastructure problems.
- Assure a high level of reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management and a deep understanding of data storage performance requirements.
- Monitor and maintain the entire system lifecycle to include hardware and software refreshes and updates, licensing, and maintenance/support agreements.
- Develop, revise, and maintain technical and operational documentation to continually improve storage and data protection.
- Ensure compliance with security requirements and respond to service and support requests from users.
- Attend and/or lead regularly scheduled meetings to foster a high level of collaboration and create, deliver, and brief updates and status reports to Digital Technology and Program leadership.
- Assist in developing the overall performance, capability, and success of other system administrators through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Typically, Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience or 12 years of directly related experience.
- Subject matter expert with data storage and data backup technology tools and systems, including experience with NAS and/or SAN data storage products.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual computing concepts.
- Experience with cloud and cloud solution technologies.
- Willingness to travel domestically, as needed.
- Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
- Experience with Windows OS administration.
- Experience with Linux and Windows integration tools.
- Experience with virtualization, VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Horizon, and ESXi.
- Experience with compliance assessment, vulnerability, and auditing tools.
- Experience with monitoring tools.
- Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, SCCM, MDT, Skype, and/or Exchange.
- Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC).
- Experience with scripting (Perl, Bash, Python).
- Experience with automation tools/frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, GitLab, Gitlab Runner).
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts.
