Job Title: Storage and Data Protection System Administrator

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Storage and Data Protection System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Technology team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing storage solutions to ensure the security and integrity of our data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement storage solutions to meet current and future needs
  • Manage and oversee existing storage solutions, including NetApp, Veritas, and Synology
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective software and hardware solutions
  • Work with architectural and end-user teams to gather storage requirements
  • Integrate and partner with customer, engineers, storage architects, system administrators, network engineering, tools, and high-performance computing teams to solve complex infrastructure problems
  • Assure a high level of reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management
  • Monitor and maintain the entire system lifecycle, including hardware and software refreshes and updates
  • Develop, revise, and maintain technical and operational documentation to continually improve storage and data protection
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements, including DFARS, RMF, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework
Requirements:
  • Typically, Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience or 12 years of directly related experience
  • Subject matter expert with data storage and data backup technology tools and systems, including experience with NAS and/or SAN data storage products
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual computing concepts
  • Experience with cloud and cloud solution technologies
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, collaboration, documentation, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically, as needed
  • Ability to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of NetApp and Veritas systems
  • Experience with Windows OS administration, including Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
  • Experience with Linux and Windows integration tools, including Centrify and Samba
  • Experience with virtualization, VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Horizon, and ESXi, and/or other virtual computing methods
  • Experience with compliance assessment, vulnerability, and auditing tools, including ACAS, Splunk, Nessus, SCAP, STIG, and Ivanti
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD/RMF
  • Experience with using Information Technology in both the project and software development lifecycle management processes
  • Experience with monitoring tools, including Nagios and SolarWinds
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, SCCM, MDT, Skype, and/or Exchange
  • Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Experience with scripting, including Perl, Bash, and Python
  • Experience with automation tools/frameworks, including Terraform, Ansible, Chef, GitLab, and Gitlab Runner
  • Experience with developer tools, including Git, Artifactory, Bitbucket, CI/CD tools, and Jira
  • Experience with containerization, including Docker, Docker Desktop, Kubernetes, and PODMAN Desktop
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including SAFe, Scrum, and Khanban
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts
  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
