We are seeking a highly skilled Storage and Data Protection Systems Administrator to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a key member of our Digital Technology team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing our storage solutions, championing the design and implementation of STaaS (Storage as a Service) solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cost-effective software and hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Storage and Data Protection Expertise: Act as the Storage and Data Protection SME for a geographically dispersed, large information system containing multiple PBs of data, leveraging a diverse cross-section of NAS and SAN technologies.
  • Storage Solution Management: Manage and oversee existing storage solutions, including NetApp, Veritas, 45Drives, and Synology, while championing the design and implementation of STaaS solutions.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Collaborate and partner across Digital Technology and programs to deliver cost-effective software and hardware solutions that meet current and future needs, following industry best practices.
  • Storage Requirements Gathering: Work with architectural and end-user teams to gather storage requirements for capacity, performance, and partner with Facilities to ensure appropriate space and power availability.
  • Infrastructure Problem-Solving: Integrate and partner with customer(s), engineers, storage architects, system administrators, network engineering, tools, and high-performance computing teams to solve complex infrastructure problems.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Assure a high level of reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management, and a deep understanding of data storage performance requirements.
  • System Lifecycle Management: Monitor and maintain the entire system lifecycle, including hardware and software refreshes and updates, licensing, and maintenance/support agreements, while taking a leadership role in efforts to budget, order, and implement replacements.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop, revise, and maintain technical and operational documentation, including procedures, to continually improve storage and data protection.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with security requirements, including DFARS, RMF, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Customer Support: Respond to service and support requests from users, ensuring all work is tracked and documented, while delivering world-class customer service.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Attend and/or lead regularly scheduled meetings to foster a high level of collaboration, while creating, delivering, and briefing updates and status reports to Digital Technology and Program leadership as necessary.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Assist in developing the overall performance, capability, and success of other system administrators through mentoring and knowledge sharing, and detailed documentation.
  • Work Environment: Work full-time in an on-site position, inside a closed area, and agree to support occasional efforts that may require work beyond and outside standard work hours.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Typically, Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience or 12 years of directly related experience.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Subject matter expert with data storage and data backup technology tools and systems, including experience with NAS and/or SAN data storage products, with an emphasis on NetApp FAS systems.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership, teamwork, communication (written and oral), collaboration, documentation, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date, and the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
