Job Description

As a Standby Letter of Credit Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of our Auto Extend portfolio. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Auto-Extend portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate execution of all processes.
  • Coordinate with business lines and relationship managers to obtain approval for Auto-Extending Standby Letters of Credit.
  • Monitor incoming approvals and instructions from business lines.
  • Track deadlines closely to ensure timely dispatch of Notices of Non-Extension.
  • Process Auto-Extensions where applicable and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and process Notices of Non-Extensions, ensuring timely dispatch as specified in each Standby Letter of Credit.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with business lines, relationship managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, minimizing risk to the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Auto Extend management process and work collaboratively with the team to implement these changes.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of international banking products, payment services, foreign exchange, and general bank operating policies and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and client servicing skills.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely share ideas and information with all stakeholders.
  • Experience in fostering a cooperative and supportive team environment.
  • Ability to identify and focus on high-priority tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems with minimal guidance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment:

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, with an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
