About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Optomi, a leading organization specializing in advanced network solutions. As a Network Engineer, you will play a key role in managing our network infrastructure, implementing secure architectures, and integrating new technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Installation and Administration
    • Install and configure switches with Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Network Access Control (NAC).
    • Perform hands-on tasks including rack and stack, power-up, and physical deployment of network hardware.
    • Manage and optimize LAN campus environments with a focus on secure architecture using NAC and ISE.
    • Oversee wireless network deployment, including Cisco Spaces pilot projects and integrating with facilities management systems.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot Meraki and Catalyst environments, ensuring clean-up and refreshes as needed.
  • Tooling and Automation
    • Develop and utilize automation scripts (Python, API calls) to enhance network operations and streamline processes.
    • Leverage network management tools to monitor, assess, and improve network performance and reliability.
  • Network Management
    • Conduct assessments of recent mergers and acquisitions, analyzing funding sources and conducting due diligence.
    • Manage new site buildouts and wireless installations, addressing any state of disarray and ensuring data integrity.
    • Participate in on-call rotation for troubleshooting and support.
  • Collaboration and Support
    • Work closely with the service desk to resolve application problems and network issues.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders across EST and CST time zones.
    • Engage in strategic planning and coordination for network enhancements and future growth.
    Requirements
    • Technical Skills
      • Proficient in LAN, wireless networking, and data center networking.
      • Experience with Cisco ISE, NAC, Catalyst, Meraki, and related technologies.
      • Strong fundamental networking background with hands-on experience in network installations and administration.
      • Familiarity with firewall configurations, WAN technologies, and data center operations.
      • Scripting skills in Python and experience with API calls for automation tasks.
    • Networking Tools
      • Expertise in Catalyst and Meraki dashboards.
      • Proficiency with network management and monitoring tools.
    • Soft Skills
      • Ability to work independently and manage tasks in both remote and on-site settings.
      • Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to address and resolve complex network issues.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across different time zones.
      Experience
      • Mid to senior-level experience in network engineering roles.
      • Demonstrated experience with hands-on network installations, administration, and troubleshooting.
      • Experience with recent network upgrades, acquisitions, and new site buildouts.
