Position Overview

Parsons Corporation is seeking a skilled Senior Aviation Construction Project Manager to oversee critical construction initiatives within the aviation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all on-site construction operations related to large-scale projects, ideally valued at $1 billion, particularly in the realm of airport facilities.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of construction disciplines and the ability to supervise contractor work while ensuring quality assurance standards are met.
  • Direct the planning of construction activities, identifying key milestones and priorities, while reviewing contractor proposals for major airport projects.
  • Establish budget estimates and staffing requirements, monitoring variances between actual and projected outcomes.
  • Ensure timely availability of subcontractor services and major equipment to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Assign tasks to construction professionals and support teams, monitoring progress and recommending corrective actions as necessary to meet project goals.
  • Manage the allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize operational efficiency and adhere to schedules and budget constraints.
  • Maintain vigilance over potential issues, taking preventive measures to ensure critical milestones are achieved throughout the project phases.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing the progress of construction activities for upper management and client review.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend promotions and salary adjustments for direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, client, and regulatory policies impacting project progress.
  • Act as the primary liaison with client representatives, engineers, designers, and contractors regarding construction activities.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and the community to promote the project and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead a team of inspectors and resident engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 15 years of relevant field construction experience.
  • Experience in airport construction or large vertical structural projects is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes and industry practices is essential.
  • Ability to collaboratively achieve key project objectives and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrated managerial capabilities along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of senior inspectors and construction administration personnel.
