Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety and enhance the safety of colleagues during shifts by identifying and addressing issues, monitoring corrective actions, and driving housekeeping improvements.
  • Organize and plan departmental tasks using personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure a clean and sanitary facility.
  • Execute daily responsibilities, including filling vacancies and assigning overtime to meet production timelines, which may involve stepping in for sanitation staff as necessary.
  • Set high standards for yourself and your team, leading by example within and beyond the sanitation department.
  • Delegate tasks to team members and guide them in proper procedures to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, ensuring proper training through the JSM process.
  • Collaborate with other departments to advance plant and departmental goals and resolve issues during shifts, aligning QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Morale) metrics with plant priorities.
  • Ensure adherence to all established employee policies and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with Lactalis Heritage Dairy policies and state/federal regulations.
  • Procure sanitation supplies and chemicals, keeping an accurate inventory as per Lactalis Heritage Dairy procedures.
  • Work closely with team members to guarantee thorough cleaning of the plant, assessing cleaning effectiveness through inspections, microbiological analyses, and documentation.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of safety and sanitation equipment design practices and standards.
  • Facilitate daily QCDSM meetings and other assigned discussions.
  • Utilize all current and future systems effectively in daily operations (e.g., MES, Coders, Check weighers).
  • Produce safe, quality products while maintaining a clean work environment by adhering to all state and Lactalis Heritage Dairy GMP policies and regulations.
  • Conduct assignments safely and with environmental responsibility, supporting plant safety and sustainability initiatives.
  • Achieve Greenbelt certification or equivalent within the required timeframe and maintain certification through successful project completion.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience and knowledge of sanitation systems are essential, with the ability to interpret and analyze basic manufacturing and sanitation data.
  • Willingness to qualify for all sanitation roles, including training across various shifts and days.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and administrative capabilities; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and implement multiple tasks while executing against specific quality objectives.
  • Proven change agent and team player with a solution-oriented mindset; excellent communication skills are necessary for interaction with personnel at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel for off-site meetings and training sessions.
