Position Overview
The Sanitation Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Sanitation Manager to ensure the seamless functioning and availability of essential equipment such as pumps and valves. This position is responsible for conducting regular inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules.
Key Responsibilities
The Sanitation Operations Specialist will undertake the following duties:
• Execute all tasks related to the Periodic Program inspections, including disassembling and reassembling valves and pumps for maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, spare parts usage, and associated costs to provide insights for program enhancements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to completion times and equipment downtime, collaborating with stakeholders to meet objectives.
• Act as a primary resource for coordinating activities with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams.
• Participate in investigations concerning foreign material contamination and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
• Report any deviations in processes or equipment to the Sanitation Manager that may affect operational efficiency.
• Assist the Sanitation Manager in preparing information for capital investment projects and budget planning.
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in sanitation processes, including conducting audits and training across departments.
• Provide training and coaching to the sanitation team and other departments as necessary.
• Contribute to the sanitation training plan and development activities relevant to the role.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and following up on any identified deviations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards, contributing to a clean and safe work environment.
• Champion safety practices and proactively address any safety concerns among colleagues.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to achieve organizational goals, respecting diverse contributions.
• Perform all duties in an environmentally responsible manner, participating in initiatives aimed at sustainability and safety.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Sanitation Manager.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
Education:
- Preferred: Associate's degree or higher
- High school diploma may be considered based on relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing environments
- At least 1 year in dairy production, food processing, or similar sectors (e.g., pharmaceuticals)
- Understanding of valves and pumps is essential
- General knowledge of dairy equipment is preferred, including HTST and packaging machinery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset
