Position Overview:
The role of the Food Services Aide is essential in delivering quality nutrition services to children enrolled in our Early Head Start and Head Start programs. This position encompasses meal preparation, engaging in classroom nutrition initiatives, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and well-stocked.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals in accordance with established menus and food safety standards.
  • Organize serving carts based on Family Style Dining principles.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils, equipment, and the kitchen area on a daily basis.
  • Receive and verify deliveries for accuracy.
  • Encourage enthusiasm for healthy eating among students through daily interactions and nutrition activities in the classroom.
  • Ensure the kitchen is orderly and complies with local, state, and national regulations.
  • Complete necessary documentation as required.
  • Adhere to Bauer policies, state licensing requirements, Head Start Program Performance Standards, and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development days, and agency-wide meetings as scheduled.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate reliable attendance and the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid Indiana driver's license and compliance with insurance requirements.
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in the food service industry is advantageous.
