Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Acquisition Analyst to join our team at Meritage Homes. As a key member of our land acquisition team, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data to identify potential land acquisition opportunities, preparing detailed reports, and coordinating with engineers to provide updated land maps.

Responsibilities
  • Land Research and Analysis: Gather and compile information to complete research and financial analysis of land under consideration for purchase.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare detailed, accurate reports on land acquisition opportunities.
  • Economic Analysis: Prepare economic base analysis and provide key economic indicator analysis.
  • Package Preparation: Prepare assigned sections of corporate approval packages.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with engineers to provide updated land maps.
  • Research Tools: Utilize research tools such as Metrostudy to assist in land and market evaluations.
  • Team Support: Assist the Vice President of Land Acquisitions and Land Acquisition Manager in daily land research responsibilities.
  • Market Research: Visit competing communities' sales centers to procure pricing, site plans, and other key indicators.
Qualifications
  • Education: BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, or related area preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of related experience; strong understanding of acquisitions.
  • Local Knowledge: Local real estate knowledge extremely beneficial.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
