Job Summary

The Operations Coordinator at Indiana University's Campus Recreational Sports is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of various recreational facilities. This includes supporting the Student Recreational Sports Center and Bill Garrett Fieldhouse, as well as managing the upkeep of outdoor/auxiliary recreational sports spaces, equipment, and event setups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance and operational effectiveness of recreational facilities.
  • Oversee the upkeep of outdoor/auxiliary recreational sports spaces, including the Outdoor Pool, Evan Williams Field, and Tennis/Pickleball Courts.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of facilities.
  • Manage the inventory of equipment parts and supplies.
  • Coordinate event setups and teardowns.
  • Collaborate with event planners and stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Implement procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze facility usage and performance.
  • Supervise and support staff involved in facility operations.
General Responsibilities
  • Evaluate recreation areas, equipment, facilities, and services to determine their effectiveness.
  • Direct the design, implementation, and evaluation of recreational programming.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate employees.
  • Ensure compliance with established risk management plans.
Qualifications

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Sports Management, or related field.
  • 2 years of related experience with structured recreational programming.

Preferred

  • Experience working with student employees, student organizations, and event planning in a collegiate setting.
  • Program evaluation and training development experience.

Required Licenses and Certificates

  • CPR/AED within 180 days from hire.
  • Standard First Aid within 180 days from hire.
  • Preventing Disease Transmission/Universal Precautions within 180 days from hire.

Preferred Licenses and Certificates

  • Relevant certification in recreational equipment maintenance.

Working Conditions/Demands

This position requires both sedentary work and long durations of movement about the workspace. It requires the ability to move and transport objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Advertised Salary

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on education and experience.
