About the Role:

PDK International is seeking a dynamic and devoted education leader to guide our Grow Your Own initiative in California. This position will serve as the ground-level coordinator for programs, curriculum implementation, state and regional events, and student officer team leadership.

The ideal candidate will act as an executor and liaison between our national office and the California Department of Education (CDE) to ensure smooth program execution. With the CDE Golden State Pathways Grant Program funding, this is an exciting time for PDK's Educators Rising to scale our 'grow your own' educator pathway initiatives, promote diversity in education, and inspire educators.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with CDE, school districts, and our national office to coordinate goals for success.
  • Partner with schools to establish CTE curriculum sites that introduce high school students to teaching. Identify skilled teachers as teacher leaders and provide resources for student recruitment.
  • Expand district, school, and student participation through regular information sessions.
  • Prepare professional learning communities (PLCs) for teacher leaders through training sessions, PLCs, and consultative sessions as they implement our standards through curriculum, competitions, and programming.
  • Support existing partnerships between high schools and local institutes of higher education for dual credit and/or enrollment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with school and district leaders to oversee program implementation across school sites.
  • Hold regular meetings with teacher leaders to educate and hold them accountable for their part in student success.
  • Plan and execute an annual state conference with breakout sessions and student competitions.
  • Facilitate student leader selection and coordination.
  • Identify potential revenue sources to keep costs down.
  • Travel for site visits and the Educators Rising National Conference.
  • Track and report data on student enrollment, demographics, and course details.
  • Ensure all student members are registered at both state and national levels.
  • Meet deliverables outlined in the Golden State Pathways Grant Program.

About You:

We seek an exceptional education leader with emotional intelligence, compassion, self-awareness, conviction, and humor. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of K-12 education experience; CTE experience is a plus.
  • District administration, grant administration, or state education department administration experience is beneficial.
  • Understanding of school, district, and state education agency sales cycles, budget processes, and purchasing processes.
  • Consultative communication skills and ability to mediate discussions.
  • Proven track record of excelling in a fast-paced environment and managing time effectively.
  • Ability to lead and innovate with linear thinking.
  • Confident, assertive, and goal-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with education technology and event planning is desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to develop relationships with district leaders and funders.

Compensation:

PDK International offers a competitive salary of $85,000, depending on experience, along with bonus and commission opportunities, a generous 403(b) plan, vacation time, and health benefits.
