Associate Director, Office of Sponsored Programs

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Office of Sponsored Programs. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to our Senior Director and the University community in securing government grants and private foundation funding.
Key Responsibilities- Research and identify government grant funding opportunities, sharing information with our Senior Director and Associate Provost for Research, Grants, and Academic Initiatives.
- Review and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs), proposal guidelines, and submission deadlines from funding agencies.
- Disseminate information about grant funding and related contracts to faculty and administrators, providing assistance in interpreting RFPs and proposal guidelines.
- Support faculty, administrators, and other members of the University community in their pursuit of specific grants, including grants-related training, proposal development, and grant budget development.
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and our Senior Director to write, edit, and proofread government grants proposals.
- Provide guidance and assistance in post-award grant management to principal investigators and project directors, ensuring efficient financial management of government and private foundation grants.
- Review, edit, and submit interim and final grant reports in collaboration with principal investigators, grant project directors, and administrators.
- Compile information about grant opportunities on a regular basis for internal and external constituencies, producing and distributing Grants Alerts on a quarterly basis.
- Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum three years of grant writing and grant management experience.
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and municipal funding agencies regulations concerning grant applications and awards.
- Familiarity with private foundations, preferably those operating in the higher education sector.
- Initiative, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office and working familiarity with Grants.gov, NSF Fastlane, NIH ERA Commons, and US ED e-grant systems.
- Knowledge of Banner (or similar university enterprise system) desirable but not required.
- Detail and service orientation, with ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel to various locations if required.
