Job Summary:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing direct services to youth between the ages of 11-18, implementing an 8-week Brent's Club Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Youth for Success: Provide ongoing case management services for participants, monitoring their activities and referring them to relevant service partners to support achievement of individual goals.
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing year-round programs for participants, including roundtable meetings for school counselors and coordination with school staff and local agencies.
  • Community Engagement: Expand community and family involvement and interest in programs services, becoming involved in community programs to market and support the CETIP Program.
  • Case Management: Maintain participants' case management records, including entry of surveys for duration of one year with each participant, and conduct follow-up services for one year with all participants.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training, remediation, and surveys for participants entering the program, and coordinate classroom-training services to include vouchering and monitoring of attendance.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in social services, counseling, or related field.
  • Skills: Ability to motivate youth, deal with the general public, effectively communicate orally and in writing, demonstrated record of case management, planning, and organizational skills, and ability to deal with at-risk youth using non-traditional delivery methods.
  • Physical Requirements: Supervise a group of youth and coordinate activities, with a majority of time spent standing and moderate lifting required from time to time.
