About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Crisis Counselor to join our Ventura Mobile Response Team at Seneca Family of Agencies.

As a Crisis Counselor, you will provide critical support to youth in crisis, working collaboratively with our treatment team to stabilize and empower them towards a brighter future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clinicians in the intake process, including assessment and gathering collateral information from caregivers.
  • Intervene in the youth's behavior as needed, providing stabilization services.
  • Work in coordination with treatment team members, outside providers, and caregivers to create a sustainable safety plan and transition to a higher level of care.
  • Engage the youth in therapeutic activities and projects.
  • Complete mental health notes, follow-up documentation, and assist with the creation of assessments.
  • Participate in weekly supervision with the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and paperwork, including mental health notes, time sheets, petty cash, and mileage.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings as needed.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy.
  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings as needed.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
