Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to take charge of junior operators and manage treatment processes at our water treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and schedule operators, respond to service requests during off-hours, and calibrate treatment equipment.
  • Monitor both physical and chemical aspects of water treatment processes while ensuring compliance with operational standards.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests, analyze data, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water treatment systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless operation of water distribution and sewage systems.
  • Engage with the community by providing informative tours of the water treatment process and addressing inquiries.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping, communication, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
  • A valid Class A or B CDL is required, or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.

Important Information:

This position is classified as safety-sensitive, necessitating pre-employment drug and alcohol testing following a conditional job offer. Random testing may also occur. A positive result for substances, including marijuana, will disqualify candidates from employment.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements: A high school diploma or GED, along with formal training or equivalent education in biology, chemistry, or a related field is required.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of four years of relevant full-time experience is necessary.

Certifications:

  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • A Virginia Class I Waterworks Operator's License is required.
  • Possession of a Class (B) and/or Class (A) Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is also necessary, or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.

Additional Notes: Employees may be required to work beyond their regular hours in response to urgent departmental needs.
