Water Production Maintenance Technician

Job Description
The City of Chesapeake is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to join its Public Utilities team. As a maintenance worker, you will be responsible for conducting and maintaining grounds housekeeping, hedge trimming, grass cutting, and weed eating, clearing fence lines, and cutting large fields. You will also be required to maintain and operate a zero turn mower, tractor, and ground maintenance tools such as a back pack blower.Key responsibilities of the maintenance worker include:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment such as adding oil or checking nuts and bolts for tightness, cleaning, painting and re-labeling.
- Perform indoor maintenance including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical or mechanical repairs, fixture moving or repair, and cleaning buildings, electrical rooms, and mechanical rooms.
- Perform outdoor maintenance including concrete work, painting, roof replacing or repairs, structure repair, and other. Capable of performing monthly Inspections as assigned.
- Assist with remote sites crews with equipment repairs, meter readings and administration of water treatment chemicals.
- Perform Stand by duties as assigned.
