Senior Nutrition Services Supervisor

Position Overview:
This role is integral to the Special Supplement Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). The incumbent will exercise independent judgment and decision-making while adhering to federally mandated protocols in a dynamic, high-demand environment. A strong emphasis is placed on fostering a respectful and collaborative atmosphere with colleagues and the community in a diverse setting.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this position is supervisory in nature, which encompasses:
1. **Leadership and Management:**
- Oversee and motivate team members, providing training and performance evaluations.
- Plan and direct daily operations, ensuring effective staff management.
- Handle personnel actions including hiring, promotions, and disciplinary measures.

2. **Client Interaction and Nutritional Assessment:**
- Conduct nutritional assessments for both high-risk and low-risk clients.
- Analyze medical and anthropometric data to determine eligibility for nutritional services.
- Develop personalized nutritional care plans and prescribe appropriate food packages.
- Provide individual counseling and education to clients, facilitating referrals to additional health and social services as necessary.

3. **Quality Assurance and Training:**
- Implement quality assurance measures for client records and nutritional services.
- Conduct regular audits and develop corrective action plans based on findings.
- Ensure staff members complete mandatory training and receive opportunities for further development.

4. **Administrative Duties:**
- Manage administrative responsibilities including the secure handling of nutritional supplies and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure timely submission of required documentation and reports.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as needed.

Required Qualifications:
1. Licensed dietitian/nutritionist in the State of Florida or a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
2. Flexibility to work across various locations and extended hours when necessary.
3. Willingness to engage in emergency duties during crises.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of breastfeeding principles and counseling techniques.
2. Experience in Public Health, Community Nutrition, or WIC programs.
3. Advanced degree in Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field.
