Director of Development and Alumni Communications

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development and Alumni Communications to join our team at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for leading the philanthropy communications program, ensuring that our message is clear, consistent, and compelling to our donors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropy communications strategy that aligns with the medical center's strategic plan.
- Collaborate with communications colleagues across the university to develop and execute a communications plan for donors and potential donors.
- Oversee the development of a core case for support for the medical center and its distinct units.
- Establish and maintain communications standards for publications, websites, campaign materials, and other components.
- Guide and oversee the development of Friends publications for various community groups that support the university's on-campus clinical and research endeavors.
- Coordinate internal communication of policies and procedures for faculty and staff giving to UT Southwestern Medical Center.
- Develop communication campaigns describing philanthropic opportunities available to internal and external audiences.
- Serve as the department's key liaison in working with colleagues across the university to ensure that websites have appropriate philanthropic content.
- Recruit and build a talented and experienced staff to support major gift officers and senior administrators in the formulation of proposals, talking points, executive briefings, and background materials.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Ten (10) years of related experience required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Marketing Cloud experience preferred.
- An advanced degree in public relations, communications, or constituent relations preferred.
- Work is performed primarily in a general office environment.
- Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimums require prior approval of the Vice President for Human Resources or his/her designee.
- This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code.
