Position Overview:
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens. We are looking for a committed and empathetic individual to serve as a Service Area Administrator for our Northern and South-Eastern regions. This crucial position offers an opportunity to significantly impact the lives of Nebraska's vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, organization, and management of child welfare services within designated areas.
  • Collaborate with local officials, stakeholders, tribal leaders, and community organizations to build partnerships and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state standards related to safety, permanency, and well-being for children and adults.
  • Set strategic goals for the service area and work with leadership to delegate and manage tasks effectively.
  • Guide administrative teams to uphold policies and procedures consistently.
  • Foster relationships with other administrators to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Mentor management and staff to promote professional growth and teamwork.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives to assess performance against program objectives.
Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, social sciences, or related fields, along with proven managerial experience in workload management, budgeting, and community relations.

Preferred: Master's degree in social work, public administration, or a related discipline, with extensive supervisory and leadership experience. Proven ability to lead teams in achieving compliance with regulations and outcomes. Experience in public speaking and collaboration with community partners is highly valued.

Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license or ability to provide independent transportation.

Compensation: Salary will be based on education and experience.
