Job Title: Medical Assistant I

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant I to join our team. As a Medical Assistant I, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in a fast-paced medical clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine patient care functions, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication administration, as prescribed by licensed healthcare providers.
  • Facilitate the practice of assigned providers by performing routine clerical functions, such as scheduling appointments and preparing patient charts.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by provider order, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Verify patient identity using two forms of identification, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic examinations, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • Apply principles of infection control practices, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform venipuncture and other lab duties, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Document pertinent patient information, nursing procedures, and patient response in the Electronic Health Records System (ERH), maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to established guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is required.
  • Possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Card.
  • Possess and maintain a California Driver's license.
  • Venipuncture experience is preferred at time of hire, with competency to be obtained within one year of hire date.
  • Experience in EHR Documentation is highly desired.
  • Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista's employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
