Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, and assist with procedures as needed.
- Administer medications and perform vital sign measurements, documenting all results accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, and perform patient care services that support the physician's practice.
- Manage medical records, charts, and electronic medical records (EMRs) with ease.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or military training equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Medical terminology, familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures, and pharmacology knowledge.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Six months of experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant.
- Certification through a private agency approved by the Medical Board of California.
- Familiarity with electronic practice management systems.
