Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a dedicated Senior Civil/Site Engineer to enhance our team. As a vital member of our Civil/Site group, you will be recognized as a strategic collaborator. Your expertise will be essential in managing diverse projects, from expansive retail developments to intimate residential initiatives, ensuring that your vision is realized while we navigate the development landscape together.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engineering calculations and prepare project estimates.
- Generate detailed drawings by modifying existing designs or creating new ones based on sketches.
- Ensure compliance with company and client design standards.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control by validating design methodologies and outcomes.
- Interpret and analyze drawings from various disciplines and respond to inquiries accordingly.
- Carry out field inspections and surveys, documenting findings through reports, photographs, and notes.
- Research and apply relevant code provisions to design projects.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop project designs.
- Create 3D models and explore design alternatives, documenting your findings for project leads.
- Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques, making necessary adaptations to existing designs.
- Assist project engineers in preparing proposals and client documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 1-2 years of relevant engineering experience; EIT or PE certification preferred.
- Interest in Civil/Site Engineering projects; prior experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficient in CAD software, including AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and WaterCAD.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with proficiency in Civil3D.
- Experience in land development projects is beneficial.
- Familiarity with pipeline, solar site, stormwater, and grading design projects is a plus.
