We identify high-value sites, work with landowners and local communities to develop them, and partner with long-term asset owners to bring the most impactful clean energy projects to life.
New Leaf Energy seeks a Civil Project Engineer II to join our expanding team supporting our utility-scale project development.
In this role, you will work with engineers, project developers, and engineering consultants to review, design, and permit prospective solar PV and energy storage projects.
Our successful candidate will be relied on to balance due diligence efforts with project risks for the continued development of projects for New Leaf Energy.
This position reports to the Vice President of Civil Engineering.

Remote candidates who meet the qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
The Civil Project Engineer II will work alongside a team of engineers, project developers, and engineering consultants to review, design, and secure permits for utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to balance due diligence efforts with project risks to support the ongoing development of projects at New Leaf Energy.
Key responsibilities include managing survey, environmental and engineering sub-consultants, working with state agencies, towns, and other stakeholders, and presenting to planning/zoning boards, state, and federal agencies.
Required qualifications include 6-12 years of experience in site development, entitlement, and environmental permitting, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HYDROCAD (or equivalent design tools).
We use a data-driven and transparent methodology to calibrate compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable, guided by the New Leaf Energy compensation manual.
The on-target annual cash bonus associated with this position is an additional 20% of base salary.
We offer a flexible work environment that places significant responsibility in independent teams and creates opportunities for innovation and personal growth.
Competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision, are also offered.
A 401k plan with immediate vesting and a company match, an open and self-managed paid time-off policy, and a hybrid work location policy that supports working from home for part of the week are also available.
A parental leave policy for both birthing and non-birthing parents is available immediately upon hire.
New Leaf Energy is committed to fostering diversity and creating an inclusive environment within our own organization and within the clean energy industry.
