POSITION: Agency Operations Manager at Encova Insurance
  • As the Agency Operations Manager at Encova Insurance, you will serve as a crucial intermediary between Encova and its network of authorized agencies. Your key responsibilities include:
Fostering and cultivating agency partnerships through regular interactions with agency executives and production teams. This involves:
 Enhancing agency growth and profitability with Encova Insurance.
 Monitoring agency performance in relation to Encova's profit-sharing initiatives and participation in leadership conferences.
 Keeping agencies updated on Encova's developments and organizational changes.
o>Encouraging collaboration among all Encova profit centers and designated agencies.
  • Delivering necessary training to agencies and assisting them in developing essential tools for achieving sustainable, long-term profitable growth with Encova across all profit centers.
  • Gathering competitive intelligence to remain ahead of market trends.
  • Staying informed about current insurance laws and regulations.
  • Identifying and assessing potential new agents for appointments.
  • Submitting required written reports.
  • Participating in industry events to stay informed and network.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments on designated accounts by utilizing appropriate Encova, NCCI, ISO, and industry standards.
  • Exploring and initiating new business opportunities within the existing client base and assigned agencies.
  • Analyzing data to evaluate pricing, risk quality, loss potential, and coverage adequacy.
  • Engaging with company underwriting guidelines, business unit strategies, and expert consultations to ensure a thorough understanding of risk exposures.
  • Preparing and presenting proposals to producers, negotiating terms effectively.
  • Ensuring the accurate issuance of policies, certificates, filings, and notifications.
  • Applying rules and guidelines diligently to ensure proper policy structuring.
  • Seeking managerial guidance on risks exceeding defined authority levels.
  • Identifying underwriting challenges and developing resolution strategies.
  • Managing existing and potential accounts through active participation in renewals, new business presentations, and agent discussions.
  • Collaborating across disciplines within the team for effective account management: claim review, safety and loss services, and customized reporting.
  • Conducting sales and training sessions to introduce new products, programs, and systems to assigned agents. Leading discussions on underwriting approaches, coverage modifications, and projects as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Traveling within the assigned territory to visit agents' offices. Vehicle travel constitutes a significant part of the associate's job.
  • Managing other duties as designated.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive commercial lines underwriting experience focusing on package lines and/or worker's compensation in the Property and Casualty insurance market is highly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree is advantageous; extensive underwriting experience can be considered as a substitute.
  • Proficient in commercial multi-line underwriting, pricing, and coverage concepts.
  • Proficiency in sales and marketing, with a solid grasp of agency relationship building techniques and collaboration with independent insurance agents.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with CPCU and/or ARM designations.
  • Strong writing skills with a focus on marketing strategies.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically in sales and marketing endeavors.
  • Efficiently juggling multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
ANALYTICAL THINKING:

Proficiency in evaluating individual scenarios, selecting appropriate courses of action from various options, and arriving at the most suitable and sustainable decisions.

  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to the designated territory.
  • Sound understanding of risk administration, management, underwriting, and loss control protocols and procedures.
  • In-depth insight into the insurance industry and its operating environment to devise effective business strategies and stay abreast of technical advancements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business exposure computations, classifications, experience rating, and plan modifications.
  • Ability to devise and execute strategies for account, territorial, producer, and book management to acquire and retain business.
  • Effective team player with adept collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in building and nurturing professional relationships, tailoring services to meet client needs.
  • Strong logic and decision-making capabilities to identify complex issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient in planning and leading meetings, ensuring agendas are set, materials are prepared, discussions are focused, client concerns are addressed, and follow-up plans are established.
  • Ability to convey ideas and information clearly, influentially, and diplomatically to individuals and groups, addressing their concerns effectively.
  • Skilled in using email systems, intranet, internet, and Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Safe operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a valid driver's license are essential.
