This specialized position supports the Level 4 NICU at the main campus and its Level 2/3 satellite units.
Key Responsibilities:
Holistic Patient Management:
As an Advanced Practice Nurse, you will serve as an essential resource for patients with complex medical needs, facilitating specialized care planning and coordination. Collaborating closely with the healthcare team, you will ensure that patients receive optimal treatment and support.
Evidence-Based Research and Implementation:
Staying informed about the latest advancements in neonatal critical care, you will actively engage in research to identify best practices, new protocols, and innovative therapies. By applying evidence-based findings to patient care, you will contribute to the evolution of treatment methodologies.
Education and Mentorship:
You will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring new staff members, including recent nursing graduates and those new to pediatric nursing. Your mentorship will foster a supportive and knowledgeable team of healthcare professionals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree, 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (new graduate Advanced Practice Nurses are encouraged to apply), Current California RN License, Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification, BLS for Healthcare Providers (issued by AHA), National Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care (RNC-NIC).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate Degree (non-MD), 5 years of experience, NRP Certification (AAP for NICU).
The expected compensation range for this position is competitive and reflects the organization's commitment to fair and equitable pay practices.
Rady Children's Hospital regularly reviews compensation to ensure alignment with similar organizations in the nonprofit healthcare sector.
