Job Summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care for high-risk neonates and participate in the development and implementation of educational programs related to high-risk neonates and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to high-risk neonates from birth to discharge

• Collaborate with attending neonatologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans

• Participate in educational programs and in-service training for healthcare staff and community groups

• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to high-risk neonate care

• Participate in research studies and contribute to the advancement of neonatal care

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

• Current California RN license and NP license

• National NP board certification in aligned specialty

• Minimum two years of recent work experience as a licensed Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

• Proven knowledge and skill in performing comprehensive neonatal assessments and general medical examinations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of NICU RN experience

• Work experience in an Academic Medical Center

• PICC certification

• Spanish language proficiency

Work Environment

UC San Diego Health's Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla and Hillcrest Medical Center

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required

Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Must be able to obtain UCSD Medical Staff privileges and maintain during employment

Compensation

$221,265 - $221,265 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable)
