Job Summary

The Production Electrical Supervisor is a key member of the CRRC Sifang America Incorporated team, responsible for overseeing the electrical and commissioning functions in the manufacturing and assembly environment. This role involves planning and assigning work, implementing policies, and recommending improvements in production safety, methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company standards and regulations.
  • Manage infractions of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Report accidents and participate in production-related accident investigations, contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate the installation and testing of specialized equipment and trucks in the production workshop.
  • Coordinate rework, repair, and testing in the commissioning room, ensuring efficient production processes.
  • Provide coaching, training, and retraining as necessary to production employees and apprentices, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
  • Create and maintain a productive, efficient, safe, and positive work environment, fostering a collaborative team spirit.
  • Create and maintain documents in compliance with Car History Book requirements and CRRC Quality standards, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Monitor the quality of individual employee and team job performance, regularly issuing job performance progress reports to the Production Manager.
  • Maintain effective lines of communication between Production Department employees, between Production Department employees and management, and between Production Department employees and staff in other departments.
  • Participate in training and productivity improvement activities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency, contributing to the company's continuous improvement goals.
  • Coordinate with the Logistic Department to retrieve and transport railcar equipment and parts to the production floor for assembly.
  • Supervise and report the resolution of Quality Department railcar parts/equipment non-conformity and abnormality citations, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Ability to work at various heights above the ground, including on top of railcars, as required by the job.
  • Verify and supervise the quality of installation work, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulations.
  • Verify and supervise the proper use and documentation of calibrated tools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervise and maintain proper inventory levels for Production Department hardware and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and technical diagrams, as required by the job.
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with Production Department 3-day schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Manage and report safety and company policy violations, contributing to a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Perform any other work assigned by the Production Manager, as required by the company.
Requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Verifiable experience in electrical wiring processes, electronics, control systems, AC/DC, or training in similar fields.
  • Associates degree and/or 5 years of experience in the railcar industry.
  • Familiarity with manual assembly processes and unionized environments.
  • Ability to compose and implement new policies, contributing to the company's continuous improvement goals.
  • Proficient in MS Office software, with excellent organizational skills.
  • Preferred experience with commercial/industrial electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and connections.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience with supervising production activities in rolling stock, aviation, or heavy trucking assembly industry.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, with a strong understanding of business processes and operations.
