We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Fairfield, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for timely and accurate billing, accounts receivable maintenance, cash receipts, general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset maintenance. You will also process potential resident financial scenarios and assist with month-end processes. Your primary focus will be on providing excellent internal and external customer service, ensuring that all residents receive timely and accurate billing information.

About the Role:

  • Process Billings: You will be responsible for processing billings in a timely manner, ensuring that all residents receive accurate and timely billing information.
  • Accounts Receivable Maintenance: You will maintain accurate accounts receivable records, ensuring that all resident accounts are up-to-date and accurately reflected in the general ledger.
  • Cash Receipts: You will be responsible for processing cash receipts, ensuring that all deposits are accurately recorded and reflected in the general ledger.
  • General Ledger Reconciliation: You will reconcile the general ledger to ensure that all accounts are accurately reflected and up-to-date.
  • Bank Reconciliations: You will reconcile bank statements to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and reflected in the general ledger.
  • Fixed Asset Maintenance: You will maintain accurate records of fixed assets, ensuring that all assets are properly accounted for and depreciated.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Billings: Process billings in a timely manner, ensuring that all residents receive accurate and timely billing information.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with residents regarding billing questions and concerns.
  • Post Cash Receipts: Post cash receipts accurately and timely, ensuring that all deposits are accurately recorded and reflected in the general ledger.
  • Verify General Ledger Balances: Verify general ledger balances to ensure that all accounts are accurately reflected and up-to-date.
  • Balance General Ledger: Balance the general ledger to subledger on a monthly basis, ensuring that all accounts are accurately reflected and reconciled.
  • Assign Life/Depreciation Method: Assign the correct life/depreciation method to assets, ensuring that all assets are properly depreciated and accounted for.
  • Verify Prospect Information: Verify prospect information, ensuring that all prospect data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Enter Information into FinAid: Enter prospect information into FinAid, ensuring that all prospect data is accurately recorded and reflected in the general ledger.
  • Deliver Results with FinAid Scenarios: Deliver results with FinAid scenarios to the Controller, ensuring that all prospect data is accurately analyzed and reflected in the general ledger.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred. Relevant education and/or experience will be considered.
  • 5 Years of Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, asset maintenance, account reconciliations, auditing, AR, and AP is preferred. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail are required to be successful.
  • Knowledge of GAAP: Knowledge of GAAP and other general accounting competencies, including how to reconcile various items to the general ledger, is required.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
